Eritaj 2025: A Night to Honor the Past and Envision the Future

On Saturday, July 26, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, GAHCCI, The Whitley, and Atlanta will play host to something extraordinary. It is called "Eritaj". (The Haitian Creole word for “legacy”.)

If you have never been to the gala, let this be the year you show up and represent Haitian beauty and excellence. Come celebrate the soul of something deeper... a homecoming of Haitian spirit, culture, art, and expression!

Haiti is the first Black republic, born from the only successful slave revolt in history. Yet too often, when people speak of Haiti, they speak only of the crisis. Eritaj rejects that narrative. It centers what has always been true: our people are powerful, brilliant, creative, and unbreakable. This annual gala uplifts those truths with bold elegance. It is a living, breathing tribute to our ancestors and a call to action for the next generation of Haitian visionaries. Past meets present, and tradition meets innovation.

This Year’s Theme: "Envision"

Every year, Eritaj gives us something new to reflect on. This year’s theme, “Envision” asks: What do we want our future to look like? What do we want to leave behind? Who must we be?

In a world where Haitian youth are demanding better, where diaspora creatives are shifting culture globally, and where community changemakers are rewriting our story one bold action at a time, Eritaj 2025 is a rallying cry. The future is not written for us, it is written by us.

The night’s performances include a powerful three-act theatrical production inspired by Haitian history and speculative futures. Cultural dances will pay homage to the roots that shaped Haiti’s spiritual and aesthetic identity. Storytelling will echo the voices of our elders, while spotlight segments honor the trailblazers among us today.
